WATT/Puppy redux
Wilson Audio Specialties' Director of Sales, Peter McGrath, came to New York City to present the Sasha W/P speaker to the press at Wilson dealer Innovative Audio on June 18.
The new speaker is a completely revised WATT/Puppy, the Sasha's sweeping curves and refined shape make it the best-looking Wilson speaker of all time.
It's a three-way design, with a 1-inch inverted dome tweeter, 7-inch midrange, and two 8-inch woofers elegantly housed within its 197 pound cabinet.
McGrath played a mix of music styles that night, but his own high-resolution classical recordings raised my estimation of founder David Wilson's design skills. It was one of those rare, "you are there" audio experiences that transport you back to the original live concert.
The Sasha W/P's ability to unravel massive orchestral works with ease is what elevates it above merely excellent high-end speakers.
The Sasha W/P can unleash truly uninhibited dynamic contrasts that belie its modest footprint.
Wilson is claiming +/- 3 dB from 20 Hz to 22 kHz and 91 dB sensitivity at 1 watt from one meter at 1kHz.
PRICE: $26,900/pair
